Texas Global is proud to cultivate and nurture the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. We have implemented programs to train entrepreneurs from across the globe. UT Austin launched the Global Innovation Lab (GIL) to train and mentor high-potential entrepreneurs and drive sustainable economic development in Austin and abroad.

For most, there is a lack of effective bridges to help emerging businesses enter the U.S. and other international markets. The GIL team is well-positioned to bridge these critical gaps by providing effective programs that focus on training, connections, and mentorship designed to help entrepreneurs go global.

Ecosystem Development: We help cities and regions become globally competitive by applying the principles of the Austin technopolis to their region, adapting to their local strengths, obstacles, and culture. We help cities improve quality-of-life for their citizens by using the framework of innovation to address their greatest development challenges.
Entrepeneurial Training: With our proprietary self-paced online curriculum that teaches the building blocks to create a high impact entrepreneurial venture, we deliver intensive training to identify entrepreneurs’ specific needs by addressing local contexts and challenges, hone business pitches, and identify ways to expand businesses globally.
Market Research Reports: In partnership with researchers, we provide companies with comprehensive market research reports. Researchers gather data to produce the report. Results of the market research report are reviewed with company representatives for inclusion in future market access planning.
Business Development: We support companies with hands-on business development support. Our team pairs companies with potential partners and prospects in the Texas and U.S. market through virtual or in-person business meetings. We expose companies to business opportunities and familiarize them with the specifics of doing business in the U.S. market.
Commercialization: Working with new venture teams, we move those teams beyond passion for an idea through the hard work of market validation, product development, and deal creation supported by our global network, to achieve measurable results.
Incubator Management: We help local stakeholders build world-class incubators. We work with stakeholders to define strategy and goals, recruit the best companies, and develop entrepreneurs to succeed in local and global markets.
Technology Transfer: Drawing on the principles of technology transfer developed at The University of Texas at Austin, we work with university researchers and support staff to move technologies from universities to the market. We assist with policy, technology reconnaissance, researcher training, IP review, market research, valuation, licensing, and spin-offs.
